towline question

Post by harry curzon »

I need to make an aerotow line for gliders of 3m to 5m span, weight up to 7.5kg.
What is a suitable material to use for the line, and what is a good length to use?

Builders line for B&Q etc, is cheap and cheerful. About 30Mtrs long is good.

Okay, I think this must be it. Had a look at it in store, it seems very thin, is it really strong enough for towing 5meter / 7.5kg gliders?

What is a good way to attach a flag/pennant to the glider end of the towline?
