I guess I will have to continue using glass/epoxy and film with a lick of paint to finish.

Don't panic, Brian, you can still get film, it's just that you need to get a mortgage to buy it...!

For what it's worth, I agree with Cliff. It's a semi modern shape fuselage with bolt on the top wings making it easier to build I would imagine. Plus more stable due to high wing. Probably a good first time scale glider build.
