VGC INTERNATIONAL RALLY 2023

Post by chris williams »

It seems the VGC's International Rally is back in the UK next year. I've had this request from Andrew Jarvis, VGC Chairman, but as travelling is problematic for me these days, I wonder if anyone would care to pick up the gauntlet...?

Hi Chris,
I'm travelling to Aston Down on Saturday, for a planning meeting for the big rally.
On the agenda is possible model flying !
Can you give me any input on this Chris?
I really would like to see some of the current crop of supermodels- either yours, or some of your associates. I'm sure we can allocate some model flying time- maybe just before the International Evening.
Apologies for short notice, but the Agenda only arrived yesterday!

Look forward to hearing from you.

I could hopefully attend as the full size of my Oly2b is based at Aston Down.

Update from Andrew Jarvis... (I guess at least one tug pilot would be useful!)

VGC member ( and 37 year owner of an SHK!) Paul Gentil has the unenviable task of being in charge of the 50th International VGC Rally; and we were talking yesterday ,at Lasham, about model gliders at the event.( or lack thereof!)

There is always the trophy for the best model at the rally, but the recipient must be a VGC member. If anyone else has a super model, there is still time to join ( I presume they are not already a member) , and scoop the prize!

A really keen modelling group led by Alberto Buson, are coming all the way from Italy, but sadly they can only manage Nympsfield.( I was wondering also if there could be a token modelling presence at Nympsfield, Douggie?- here are the Italian modellers at Ferrara!)

Look forward to hearing from you, Chris.

.All good wishes,

Andrew

I would be up for a visit to either place, with tug if required.

I do question just how much they actually want models there though.
