With the canopy/hatch finished, and a quick tidy up of the u/c mount, it's time to make a start on the wing centre section. The wing is built with one half flat to the board and the jigged up for the dihedral...Note that the 11mm brass box takes up so much space between the spars that the root rib needs a little reinforcement around the slot...

All the usual 0.8mm ply supports to the rear of the ribs, followed by the remaining web plates and the sub spars in front of the plates...(I'm not showing the wing joiner box arrangement as I changed it for the outer panels)

The centre of the centre section is filled with solid balsa, meanwhile, the lower sheeting is applied in one piece. Note: The centre section/outer wing panel join has been moved inward one bay for a couple of reasons: one being that it obviates the need to splice all the long parts as stock lengths fill will then fit...

To finish off the D section, the wing is laid on its jigging supports with the TE's clamped straight, whilst the top sheeting is glued in place...

The wing is fixed to the fuselage with two 5mm plastic bolts. The captive nut is forced into place with a metal bolt and a large washer, and retained with a dab of epoxy
