Re: Hungarian Karakan
Hi Vince, Don't worry about the part ribs then, they can be cut from balsa sheet, probably about 3/34 inch deep.

Re: Hungarian Karakan
Paul - I understand you had a query on the wing trailing edge extension over the fuselage. It is not what Martin Simons shows, but much narrower and is just an extended join of the upper and lower skins along the line of the fuselage. There are no special ribs involved

Thanks Vince, that makes a slightly easier build! Are there any other differences to look out for? You did mention the wing tips were incorrect on Martins 3 view.

Re: Hungarian Karakan
On the 3-views the aileron ribs around the centre do not line up with the wing ribs and they should. Here is a useful photo. The first bay at the root should be 100mm, not 150mm as on the MS drawing. This partly allows for the wing connectors. The fuselage pylon is 500mm which allows for a 100mm gap between the pylon and wing for these connectors. For model purposes, unless you are doing scale wing connectors, the wing root bay needs to be 150mm (scaled of course) and the wing pylon 600mm. Note that the gap on the full size is sealed with a clear plastic shroud.
I don't know how much information you have, but here are a few you may not have. I will probably do a web page at some time with an updated 3-view

Re: Hungarian Karakan
The drawing is taken from a book on Hungarian gliders by Jereb Gábor and is certainly a better drawing. I have the book on computer, but Google does a bad job on translation.
